Sheers and Shadings

Our line of sheers & shadings is a stunning combination of a light filtering sheer curtain with blind vanes. This allows the window treatment to provide more lighting options than either curtains or blinds can deliver on their own. You can open the shades completely, have the shades down and the vanes open, partially close the vanes, or completely close the vanes. Each of these options baths your home in a different level of light, allowing you to pick the perfect amount for each room and time of day.

As we mentioned earlier, Hunter Douglas sheers & shadings are great for blocking harmful UV rays. We also offer a special ClearView™ Tapestry™ fabric that is designed to block UV rays while allowing you an unobstructed view of the outside world.

There are over 60 different fabric options available for our window shades. Choose from several different colors, opacities, and patterns. Our three shade styles are all available in identical or complementary fabrics so that you can choose to match every window in your home, even if some require vertical shades. All of our fabrics are also available by the yard, so you can create matching accessories to add to your decor.

We offer several operation options for our sheers & shades. These options include cord operation, wand operation, cordless operation, and motorized operation. You can even select PowerView® automation which allows you to operate your window treatments from your cell phone, a remote, or smart home system.

You want this type of shade if your home has brightly colored furniture, beautiful wall art, artisan carpets, or anything else that might be harmed by UV exposure. The Pirouette® fabric options include sheers that block out 81% of harmful UV rays, even with the vanes completely open. Rotating the vanes gives you added privacy and light control. These window treatments are constructed from a single sheer backing and suspended vanes, allowing even better view-through.

These window shades are designed with lighting control and privacy in mind. The unique S-shaped vanes that make up the Silhouette® Window Shading are suspended between two sheer curtains. The shape of the vanes allows them to interlock, providing more privacy and blocking more light. You can even add the DuoLite® feature, which combines the sheer with an opaque roller shade for even more light control.

For tall windows, narrow windows, wide windows, and sliding glass doors, Luminette® Privacy Sheers are the best choice. If needed, they can be drawn entirely to one side, and the suspended vanes can rotate a full 180 degrees. These window treatments are great for light control and privacy. They can also be made with cut-outs for French doors.
